Constructing Safe Housing & Shelter

Safe spaces don’t just protect—they transform lives. We construct and renovate shelters that keep people and pets together, help wildlife recover, and create stronger communities.

Impact Highlights

Nearly 1 million animals and thousands of people helped through safe housing projects.

Projects across 49 states and 4 countries—and growing.

A bold commitment to expand the number of pet-friendly domestic violence shelters far beyond today’s 19%.

Animal Shelters

The Problem

Overcrowding and outdated facilities put a huge strain on shelters trying to save animals’ lives and help them thrive. In the first half of 2024 alone, 322,000 more pets entered U.S. shelters than could be placed. Cramped, stressful environments make it harder for animals to thrive and harder for people to adopt.

Our Solution

We design and renovate shelters to feel less like holding cells and more like homes. From modern kennels and play yards to cat rooms built for enrichment, our projects reduce stress, boost adoption outcomes, and create safer spaces for staff and volunteers. By making shelters more welcoming for adopters, pets spend less time waiting and more time where they belong—in loving homes.

Domestic Violence Shelters

The Problem

48% of domestic violence survivors delay leaving unsafe situations out of fear for their pets. Yet, only 19% of domestic violence shelters allow pets. That means families fleeing violence are forced to make the impossible choice: leave their pet behind, or stay in danger.

Our Solution

We partner with shelters to add pet housing—whether it’s kennels, converted rooms, or full additions—so no one has to choose between safety and family. Survivors can heal faster and rebuild stronger when their pets are by their side.

Wildlife Rehabilitation

The Problem

About 40% of wildlife brought to rehab centers are injured due to human causes like car strikes or fishing line entanglements. But too many facilities lack species-specific spaces—like flight pens or climbing habitats—needed for recovery. Without them, stress is higher and chances of release back into the wild are lower.

Our Solution

We build and renovate enclosures tailored to each species, from raptors to raccoons to big cats. Designed to mimic natural habitats and withstand extreme weather, these spaces help animals recover, relearn natural behaviors, and return to the wild.

Beyond Brick and Mortar

Every build is part of something bigger. We also provide remote design services, 3D scans, grant support, and funding to help projects succeed even when we can’t be on the ground. After disasters, we help facilities rebuild fast, so lifesaving services can continue.

Together, we can rebuild hope.
